On Monday the 9th of June, Steve Jobs, Apple Inc. CEO announced the iPhone 3G.
The release date for this beauty worldwide is the 11th July…. in over 70 countries…
…and the price….. astonishingly, £159 for the 16Gb version on O2 £35 & £30 contracts (18 Months)
I can’t wait until the 11th and have already registered my interest with O2….
My “obsession” with the iPhone stems from receiving an iPod touch, (Get one for FREE by visiting this link and signing up)… They’re such marvelous little things… and mobile Safari is excellent…. it’s all excellent….
But… I don’t want to have to carry a mobile and iPod everywhere… so the iPhone is the ideal solution.
I wish July the 11th would hurry up

I have updated www.garethvjones.com once again.
I wasn’t happy with the colour scheme of the “old” site really, so the best thing I could do was re-do it.
It now looks a lot cleaner and crisp.
Simplicity was the order of the day when thinking about the design.
Lookout for further updates to the portfolio page soon.

Well I haven’t posted on here for a while… been busy really…
www.freebie4you.co.uk has been quite a success, getting 1000+ pageviews in about a month of being online….
I’m quite pleased with the progress of this site because it means that people want to see what I have to offer.
FREE iPods, Touches, iMac’s, Macbook Air’s….. www.freebie4you.co.uk has them all…. Why not go along and sign up for your own free gift?

Another website finished today: www.giftbonanza.co.uk - It’s a site I designed and created to help a friend out. Instead of giving out a long referral link for people to remember, this website does the trick. It’s got a fairly easily remembered title.
Hopefully a few people will sign up to it…
It was a pleasure to design… valid CSS and XHTML on all pages… incuding the pages with YouTube links, which I’m quite proud of.
I’ll be starting on another design soon, so keep your eyes peeled…

Well, I’ve finally finished updating this site.
Took a while longer than I’d have liked it to take, but we got there.
It should be easier to navigate around the site now. All I have done is simplify things down.
I didn’t think there was a need for a “cluttered” site.
I may change the place holder image on the front page with RSS feeds at some point, but for now I’m leaving it.

Well I’ve just completed designing a new site called freebie4you to advertise FREE gift.
The site is designed to be pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate.
It’s quite successful too… only been launched for 2 days and it’s already received 50 or so hits.
I think this is quite good as it’s only been advertised on 1 site.
Once the marketing is done I’m hoping there will be much more visitors to the site.
So, onto a new project soon…. watch this space….

Well I’ve just upgraded Wordpress to the latest version, which is 2.5
I don’t think there’s much difference for you, the reader on the frontend, but the backend (behind the scenes) is complete different. Much more intuative and clean looking.

I’m trying to figure out if it’ll be worth it for me to put GoogleAds on the site. Actually I’m considering if it’ll be worth it for me to put advertising of any sort on the site.
Seeing as I’m still in the early stages of putting the site together online (Offline, the site is in a much more advanced stage), it wouldn’t be too much trouble to place a couple of adverts here and there.
Primarily the site is to promote my web design, I don’t want it to turn into one of these sites that have adverts everywhere.

The Development of the site is coming along quite nicely, albeit a bit slowly. The reason for the slowness is because I’m working on another project at the same time, and that’s taking up a lot of my time.
Just finished validating the XHTML and CSS, so everything works fine there. Validating the CSS on the blog is a much harder task. But I’m sure I’ll be adding the little logo to the bottom of my blog soon enough.
On a general note, and as we do so often enjoy talking about the weather, it’s a bright but slightly wet day here.

The site hasn’t developed as much as I hoped it would by now.
That doesn’t mean things haven’t been going on behind the scenes.
I will get the frontend up and running soon, but want to get some backend stuff sorted out first.
